Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 November 2026

Foursight is a general-wellness app for tracking sleep, stress, diet and exercise. It is operated by Curtis (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: support@foursighthealth.com.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and name, and a sign-in identifier if you use Sign in with Apple or Google. For Sign in with Apple we also keep a token from Apple solely so we can revoke Apple's link to Foursight when you delete your account.
  • Profile and goals: timezone, country (which you choose; we do not use location services), sex, birth year, height, weight, goals, training preferences, diet style, dislikes, allergies, meal and budget preferences, and your targets.
  • Meals: meal photos you take, notes, the foods and portions identified, and meals you log manually.
  • Apple Health data (only with your permission, read-only): sleep, workouts, heart rate (including heart rate during workouts, heart rate variability and resting heart rate), steps, blood pressure and body weight.
  • Logs you enter: stress check-ins, caffeine, water, supplements and doses.
  • Optional health considerations: conditions you choose to tell us about (for example high blood pressure), whether you take medication for them, targets from your clinician, pregnancy status, notes, symptoms you log, and lab values you enter.
  • Weekly check-ins: your ratings, weight and comments, and the review we generate.
  • Purchases: whether you have Foursight Pro, which plan, and when it renews or expires. We never see your payment details; Apple handles payment.
  • AI consent: whether and when you allowed AI features.
  • Security logs: sign-in events with IP address, kept for abuse prevention only.

We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, attribution or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Why we use it

To provide the app's features: calculating targets and scores, recognising food in photos, generating insights, meal plans, weekly reviews and doctor reports, showing safety alerts, and keeping your data in sync across your devices. We do not sell your data, we do not build marketing profiles, and we never use health data (including Apple Health data) for advertising.

Sponsored cards

Free users may see one clearly labelled “Sponsored” product card on some screens (Home, Eat or Feed). Cards are sold directly to brands; there is no ad network or ad SDK. A card is chosen only by the screen it appears on and the country set in your profile, never by your health data, meals, goals or anything else about you. Brands receive no information about you: we count only how many times each card is shown and tapped, without recording who saw it. Tap “Why this?” on a card to see this in the app. Foursight Pro removes sponsored cards.

AI processing (only with your permission)

Some features use Anthropic's Claude AI. Before anything is sent, the app asks for your permission, and you can withdraw it at any time in the app (You → Privacy → AI features). What is sent:

  • Photo scans: the meal photo and any note you add, plus your country, to identify foods and estimate portions.
  • Meal ideas and 7-day meal plans: your remaining targets for the day (or daily targets), diet style and pattern, dislikes, budget, cooking preference, country and any craving you type.
  • Weekly check-in reviews: the week's computed figures, such as days with meals logged, training sessions, average sleep, weight trend and your check-in scores.

We never send your name or email address. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf to return a result; under Anthropic's commercial terms it does not train its models on this data. Anthropic may keep API inputs and outputs for a limited period (typically up to 30 days) for safety and abuse monitoring before deleting them. If you don't allow AI features, photo scans are unavailable, but you can still log meals manually or by barcode, and meal ideas, meal plans and weekly reviews use our built-in templates instead. Every nutrient number we show is calculated by us from our nutrition database, not by the AI.

Meal photos

Your meal photos are never sold, and we never use them to train AI models — ours or anyone else's. They are used only to estimate that meal for you. Anthropic, which analyses them on our behalf, may not train its models on them under its commercial terms. Stored photos have unguessable names and are kept only so you can see them in your log.

  • Keep meal photos (You → Privacy, on by default): turn it off and each new photo is analysed and then discarded without being stored; the meal keeps only its foods and numbers.
  • Delete all my photos (You → Privacy): permanently deletes every stored meal photo file from our storage, not just the link to it. Your meals and their numbers stay.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

Data read from Apple Health is used only to provide Foursight's features to you. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties for marketing or data-mining purposes. It is not stored in iCloud. Foursight does not write data to Apple Health. You can change Apple Health permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Our website and beta waitlist

If you join the beta waitlist on foursighthealth.com, we keep the email address, first name (if you give one), country and type of phone you enter, to send your beta invite and launch news. We don't use it for anything else or share it, and we delete it if you ask at [email protected].

The website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies.

Service providers

We use these companies to run Foursight. They process data only on our behalf:

  • Anthropic: AI analysis of meal photos and wording of ideas, plans and reviews (only with your permission; see above).
  • Render: hosting of our servers and database (United States).
  • Cloudflare: network, security and content delivery in front of our servers (and photo storage if enabled).
  • RevenueCat: subscription status for Foursight Pro (receives your Foursight account number and Apple purchase records, not your name or health data).
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, and Apple Health (HealthKit data is read on your iPhone).
  • Google: Google Sign-In, if you choose it.
  • Expo: delivery of app updates (receives technical data such as app version, not your personal data).
  • USDA FoodData Central: food-name and barcode lookups. Only the search text is sent, never personal data.

Where your data is stored

Our servers run on Render in the United States with a managed PostgreSQL database. Meal photos are stored with unguessable file names. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access is limited to what is needed to run the service.

Retention, deletion and export

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app (You → Data & account → Delete account); this immediately and permanently removes your account and all associated data, including meal photos, health logs, plans and check-ins, and revokes Sign in with Apple. Deleting your account does not cancel a Foursight Pro subscription: cancel it in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). You can also export a copy of your data from the app at any time. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

Security

We use industry-standard protections including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, short-lived access tokens, rate limiting, and per-user data isolation on every request. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you.

Children

Foursight is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Not a medical device

Foursight provides general wellness information only. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, detect or prevent any disease. Always follow your doctor's advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (for example 999 in Malaysia).

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under Malaysia's PDPA, the GDPR or US state laws) you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to withdraw consent (for example, turn off AI features in You → Privacy). Most of this you can do in the app; otherwise email us.

Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the date above. Significant changes will also be shown in the app.
